Pharmox UC-II® is a dietary supplement based on a patented form of undenatured type II collagen (UC-II®). This collagen is produced at low temperature, without an enzymatic process, during which its molecular structure is preserved. Pharmox UC-II® is produced from poultry cartilage, which ensures high absorption and bioavailability of the obtained collagen.
Additionally, the supplement has been enriched with vitamin C and D. Vitamin C contributes for the formation of collagen for the proper functioning of cartilage and bones. Vitamin D increases the absorption of calcium in bones and has a positive effect on maintaining flexible muscles.
When should you use Pharmox UC-II® collagen type 2 for joints in dogs and cats?
The supplement is suitable for dogs and cats of all breeds and ages. It is especially recommended for dogs and cats with osteoarthritis and older animals. The preparation can also be administered prophylactically to animals at risk of osteoarthritis, such as active and sporting dogs, large and giant breeds during periods of rapid growth.
Which collagen for joints for dogs and cats should you choose?
Collagen is a protein, so far scientists have managed to identify 29 types of collagen. Type I collagen is the basic component of the skin. Type II collagen occurs mainly in joint cartilage, and poultry cartilage is particularly rich in it. It is very important that proteins, including collagen, are sensitive to processing at high temperatures. Therefore, hydrolysates from skin and bones produced at high temperatures have a weak effect on joints, and it should also be remembered that type I collagen dominates in the skin. Such collagens obtained at high temperatures or subjected to strong chemical factors are biologically inactive and are most often found in products supporting dog joints.
The low-temperature processing method allows for obtaining undenatured form of type II collagen from the best raw material, which is poultry cartilage and preserving the original properties of the protein, ensuring high bioavailability and bioavailability. Therefore the most effective collagen for dog joints is collagen type II in undenatured form.
Collagen type 2 for dogs and cats - effectiveness confirmed by research
Pharmox UC-II® is a high-quality product developed based on scientific knowledge. It is manufactured according to a patented production method and recipe. The effectiveness of type II collagen is confirmed by many clinical studies conducted in both humans and animals - dogs, cats and horses. It has been shown that daily supplementation with UC-II® in dogs with moderate mobility disorders alleviates the symptoms of joint inflammation and significantly reduces pain.
How does undenatured type 2 collagen (UC-II®) work?
- Stops the process of cartilage degradation and joint destruction
- Improves joint mobility and efficiency
- Reduces inflammation of joints
- Reduces the feeling of pain
- Improves movement, reduces lameness
- Improves the quality of life of the animal
Undenatured type 2 collagen works on the dog's joints by regulating the body's immune response. Joint problems begin with damage to the joint cartilage, which leads to the release of small collagen fragments into the joint space. This leads to inflammation and an immune reaction of the body, because the immune system treats these released cartilage fragments as a foreign body. The breakdown of cartilage continues, pain appears, and as a result, there are progressive changes in the functioning of the joints and limited mobility.
UC-II collagen regulates the immune system's response - it "teaches" it to recognize its own collagen and interrupts the undesirable reaction of destroying its own collagen. As a result, it reduces inflammation in the joints, relieves pain, and restores joint function.
